Check out the Cascade Canyon Excursion on the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. It’s one the best scenic winter train trip in the country.  Mesa Verde cliff dwellings are a must see any time of the year. Otherwise, take in the Trimble Hot Spings and Spa, browse historic downtown Durango. Ice climbing, skiiing, skating and just about any other weekend activity can be found nearby.
